St Peter Julian’s

Our brief was to make the famous mosaic feature look as if daylight was pouring in through the cross and filtering throughout. This beautiful mosaic feature was created in the 50s by a renowned mosaic artist, but something was always missing – the light. It was a tricky task because there was just a dark void behind it with no natural daylight.

There was also a huge amount of grout and the mosaic glass was very thick, making it hard to penetrate with light. Part of solution in solving the problem was using the ambi-led LED system on dimmers – and the result looks great.
