Just how to create a Norse and Viking flaming without the flaming torches or candles?

Obviously it can be quite complex. The brief asked that the space felt like it was lit by candlelight, so we had to consider all light sources of light to achieve this outcome.

The effect included the need for bespoke warm white lights in the meat fridges, and a lamp source that best mimicked the lumens offered by a candle. And with a $20,000 axe hanging on the wall who were we to argue?

Split between two floors, upstairs is a nod to Nordic design where downstairs plays homage to the festive after the feast in a darker, warmer space much like a cellar.

Viking iconography is carved into shields, drinking horns, axes and even ornate handmade knives. These are illuminated with our Australian-made Symphony range and our Sundial has the privilege of getting cosy in the cabinet.
